Industrial Designs Prosecution

Ratza & ratza is able to assist you with the registration of your designs, through the following routes:

National Industrial Designs Registrations

National Industrial Designs Registrations in Romania:

  • Filing Requirements
    • Power of Attorney*, simply signed.
    • Assignment*, simply signed.
    • Declaration*, simply signed.
      Grace term for all of the above: 2 months from the application.
    • Priority Document (in copy) - if any.
      Grace term: 3 months from the application.
    • Sample drawings for the requested objects. Formal drawings are prepared locally.
    (*Our bilingual documents should be used)
  • Timeframes:
    • Publication: in approx. 6 months from the application date.
    • Examination: approx. 12 months from the publication date, comprising a 3-month opposition period.
    • Issuance of the Registration Certificate: approx. 18 months from the application date.

National Industrial Designs Registrations in other countries

We have set up a network of leading international IP firms, which assist us and our clients in protecting their designs worldwide. Filing requirements and timeframes vary from country to country and are available upon request. International Industrial Designs Registrations

Ratza & ratza is able to represent its clients before WIPO in order to file new design applications in up to 43 countries. Filing requirements are the same as above while timeframes vary from country to country and are available upon request. CD* - Community Designs

Ratza & ratza is able to represent its clients before OHIM in order to file new community design applications. One design registration is valid in 25 countries and will be extended to Romania and Bulgaria starting with January 1, 2007.

*Representation before OHIM is done through associated offices from the European Union. We shall be able to represent our client's directly before OHIM starting with January 1, 2007.
