After the last year Venice victory, when Int. II crew had won the first place, this year, our colleague, Michael Enache, was again part of the crew skippered by Tom Vigil, during the 2009 PATENT CUP.
The event host, intellectual property firm Dannemann Siemsen, had greatly organized the regatta on the Island of Ilhabela, off the north -western shores of Sao Paulo state, Brazil, between May 27-30, at the Yacht Club de Ilhabela.
After a tough competition, the crew skippered by Mark Robinson, from the European Patent Office, passed the finish line first, followed by Henrique I. de Mello, Brazil, from Dannemann Siemsen. The podium was filled by the crew of Leif R. Sigmond and Gary M. Ropski.
The Int. II crew consisted of Tom Vigil (USA - skipper), Mark Phelps (USA), Justin Williams (USA) and Michael Enache (ROMANIA).
This was the 21st edition of the Patent Cup, competition founded for the first time in 1989, by two close friends, intellectual property attorneys, Peter Franck (DE) and Frederic Benech (Fr).
Michael wishes to personally thank skipper Tom Vigil for the invitation.
It was a real honor to be, once again, part of this prestigious competition, 2009 PATENT CUP.
